Militant Hungarian far-right group. “Betyár” is the Hungarian word for an outlaw, though it has connotations of being a person in the right when resorting to unlawful and perhaps violent acts. In its contemporary version, “Betyársereg,” or troops of outlaws, is a far-right organization active especially in South Hungary. Based on information they provide about themselves on the internet, they engage in military training to create a “a new generation of fighters.”
